Disney’s new streaming service, Disney+ is launching later this year, and there are a lot of new series and movies launching on it. But there is one series, however, for which we now have all new information: Monsters at Work. The new series is based on the feature film Monsters, Inc and picks up six months after the events of the original film. From the huge casting announcement, this series looks like it will be amazing.

Monsters at Work

Perhaps the most exciting thing about this series is the returning cast. Most of the original voice cast from Monsters, Inc. will be back reprising their roles. That includes Billy Crystal as Mike and John Goodman as Sulley. Also coming back is Jennifer Tilly as Celia, Mike’s love interest. Also coming back is John Ratzenberger as the Yeti. Likewise, Bob Peterson, one of the storyboard artists for the original film, will be back to voice Roz in this series.

The Monsters are back in Monsters at Work

If you have seen the original film, then you will remember that Waternoose, the boss of Monsters Inc was arrested by the CDA. So he will not be appearing in the series. Similarly, Randall will not return for the series, either. He was sent through a door to a trailer park, and was hit several times with a metal baseball bat.

But there is also a whole new cast of characters joining the series as well. Ben Feldman from NBC’s Superstore will be voicing Tylor Tuskmon, who is being described as “an eager and talented mechanic on the Monsters, Inc. Facilities Team who dreams of working on the Laugh Floor alongside Mike and Sulley.”

Also joining the cast is Kelly Marie Tran from both Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Star Wars: Episode IX. Her character will be Val Little, and she is Tylor’s lifelong friend and confidante. Henry Wrinker from HBO’s Barry will be voicing Fritz, who is the scatterbrained boss. Lucas Neff from Fox’s Raising Hope is the voice of Duncan, an opportunistic plumber.

All-Star Cast brings Monsters at Work to Disney+

Alanna Ubach from Pixar’s Coco is voicing Cutter, the officious rule follower. Stephen Stanton from Disney Channel and Disney XD’s Star Wars Resistance will be the voices of Smitty and Needleman, the bumbling custodial team. And Aisha Tyler from both FX’s Archer and The CW’s Whose Line Is It Anyway is voicing Millie Tuskmon, and she is Tylor’s mom.

Also, Bob Peterson will voice not just Roz this time around, but also Roz’s sister, Roze. Finally, Pixar fixture John Ratzenberger will voice a second character in this series by the name of Bernard. This is no information at this time for these two characters.

Bob Gannaway from Disney Junior’s Mickey Mouse Clubhouse serves as executive Producer for the series. Producing the series will both Disney Television Animation and Ferrell Barron. Directing the series will be both Kat Good and Rob Gibbs.

We expect the series to premier on to Disney+ sometime in 2020.
