“Lose your mind. Lose your reality.” Netflix just revealed a first look at the long-awaited return of Black Mirror. The dystopian sci-fi anthology series will return next month, after a hiatus of almost two years.
The six-episode season will feature five brand new episode concepts, in addition to a special sequel episode calling back to a previous episode. Check out the first look at the new season in the trailer below.
As Black Mirror’s popularity has grown over the years, it’s also managed to nab more and more big name stars. As previously announced, this upcoming season will feature Awkwafina, Milanka Brooks, Peter Capaldi, Emma Corrin, Patsy Ferran, Paul Giamatti, Lewis Gribben, Osy Ikhile, Rashida Jones, Siena Kelly, Billy Magnussen, Rosy McEwen, Cristin Milioti, Chris O’Dowd, Issa Rae, Paul G. Raymond, Tracee Ellis Ross, Jimmi Simpson, and Harriet Walter.
Today, Netflix also revealed a few additional stars, including Michele Austin, Ben Bailey Smith, Asim Chaudhry, Josh Finan, James Nelson-Joyce, Will Poulter, Jay Simpson, and Michael Workéyè.
Black Mirror comes from creator Charlie Brooker. Though plot details for this season’s anthology remain under wraps, we know one episode will serve as a sequel to the season 4 episode “USS Callister”. (Aka, the one that parodied Star Trek.) As TUDUM teased, “Captain Robert Daly may have died in the original episode, but for the crew of the USS Callister, their problems are just beginning…”
New episodes of Black Mirror will premiere on Netflix April 10. You can stream the show’s previous seasons on the platform now.
