Elizabeth Posey has joined the cast of Vought Rising, a prequel to Prime Video’s The Boys.

The Euphoria actress joins Jensen Ackles and Aya Cash in a leading but undisclosed role in the superhero prequel. Ackles and Cash will reprise their roles as Soldier Boy and Stormfront in the spin-off that will uncover the early days of Vought.

Blue Bloods actor Will Hochman was also announced as joining the cast. Both his and Posey’s characters have yet to be revealed.

Vought Rising is the latest addition to The Boys franchise, whose flagship show is set with the upcoming season 5. Other spinoffs include the animated The Boys Presents: Diabolical, the college-set Gen V, which is filming its second season, and the forthcoming The Boys: Mexico.

What We Know About Vought Rising

Very minimal details have been released about the upcoming Vought Rising. We do know it’s set in the 1950s and has been described as a “twisted murder mystery” that will reveal more about the early days of Vought. Vought International is the shady international company that manages famous superheroes and uses corruption to aim for world domination.

Stormfront (Cash) and Soldier Boy (Ackles) are set to appear, and the show will explore their problematic pasts and how they became the devilish superheroes seen in The Boys. The show won’t just explore the origins of Vought, but it will also show the development of the notorious Compound V in the wake of WWII.

The Boys executive producer Paul Grellong will serve as showrunner and executive producer, while The Boys mastermind Eric Kripke will also serve as executive producer. Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg, James Weaver, Neal H. Moritz, Ori Marmur, Pavun Shetty, Ken Levin, Jason Netter, Garth Ennis, Darick Robertson, and Michaela Starr also serve as executive producers on the series. The series is produced by Sony Pictures Television and Amazon MGM Studios in association with Kripke Enterprises, Point Grey Pictures, and Original Film.

“It’s a twisted murder mystery about the origins of Vought in the 1950s, the early exploits of Soldier Boy, and the diabolical maneuvers of a Supe known to fans as Stormfront, who was then going by the name Clara Vought,” said Kripke while Grellong added, “We cannot wait to blow your minds and trouble your souls with this salacious, grisly saga drenched in blood and Compound V.”

Currently, there’s no word on when Vought Rising will hit Prime Video. In the meantime, fans of the world of The Boys can expect to enjoy season 2 of Gen V, which is set to be released sometime in 2025.
