It’s the final countdown to Daniel Craig’s final turn as 007. And it’s the final trailer for No Time To Die.

So the studio reports anyways. After a year of COVID-related delays, it almost feels optimistic to refer to any film trailer as the “final” trailer. But the next Bond film is set for October 8, and if this “final trailer” is anything to go by, that date is sticking.

In No Time To Die, James Bond has left active service and is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica. But his peace is short-lived when his old friend Felix Leiter from the CIA turns up asking for help. The mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading Bond onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

The story will pick up threads from the last Bond flick, Spectre. (Which premiered way back in 2015!) Christoph Waltz returns as Ernst Stavro Blofeld. But Rami Malek’s Safrin plays the central villain of this movie.

The spy flick will mark the 25th movie in the Bond franchise. It’s also Craig’s fifth and final outing as 007. In No Time To Die, Lashana Lynch picks up the 00-mantle.

No Time To Die hits theaters October 8.
