Abbott Elementary Season 3 is on DVD this week and fans should be excited to revisit Quinta Brunson and all of her friends. Warner Bros. Discovery Home Entertainment sent over all 14 episodes for us to review. While the show is as delightful as ever, the third salvo of episodes really offers an “education” about how the world of this show continues to evolve. Abbott Elementary Season 3 sees Janine Teagues stepping into a whole lot of responsibility at the titular school.

Brunson, Justin Halpern, Patrick Schumacher, Randall Einhorn and Brian Rubenstein all executive produce this series. In an era where a lot of TV is consumed through streaming services, Abbott might be the biggest proof of concept for the power of broadcast TV. However, once you see the episodes air, you’re probably going to want to catch them again.

DVD releases like Abbott Elementary Season 3 make that choice super simple for viewers out there that want to have the entire story at their fingertips. 302 minutes later, you’ll be super charmed by the show if this is your introduction. And, for longtime fans, multiple running storylines get important updates over Season 3’s runtime.

Abbott Elementary Season 3 Sees Janine and The Show Step Into Its Own

Abbott Elementary

Abbott Elementary has always leaned-into Philadelphia as a bit of a muse. Including the characters talking about specific locations and wrangling in celebrities from the area is standard operating procedure at this point. (Look no further than that massive It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia crossover from the most recent season for proof of that.)

Still, Season 3’s press cycle and first episode show off how big Abbott Elementary has become. Newly minted Super Bowl winner Jalen Hurts and the Eagles make a trip to the school for career day. That’s just a taste of things to come with Kevin Hart and a host of other familiar faces cameoing across this 14 episode run. (Cree Summer? For real? Amazing.)

Abbott Elementary

It’s not hyperbole to say that Abbott Elementary is the most feel-good comedy on TV right now. So, getting to revisit these funny stories at your leisure was a fun experience. Brunson, in particular, really feels more at home as Janine than she has in previous seasons. There’s a clearer purpose with Abbott Elementary Season 3 that radiates from almost every episode. Whether they’re talking about smoking affecting youths or dangling the will-they-won’t-they drama of Gregory and Janine’s hysterical flirtation over our heads, it’s focused and funny.

So, if you’re a die-hard Abbott Elementary fan, picking up Season 3 is a no-brainer. The discs are available for $19.95 here in the states. Going back to school can be enjoyable. Well, if it’s this set of teachers leading the way.

What Is Abbott Elementary About?

“It’s the season for change for the teachers of Abbott Elementary. Janine leads ambitious growth initiatives for the school while navigating personal and professional challenges. Gregory embraces his role as the “cool” teacher. Ava surprises with moments of unexpected leadership. From Career Day to a heartfelt end-of-year celebration, the Abbott staff prove that with teamwork – and Janine’s relentless drive – they can handle anything.”

Abbott Elementary Season 3 releases on DVD April 1. You can also catch new episodes of season 4 airing weekly on Wednesdays on ABC.
