This year at CinemaCon, we had a lot of fantastic announcements and reveals. From upcoming Marvel releases to M3gan possibly turning good, there was a little something for everyone. So with everything that was announced over the past week, I thought I would share with you all the top five movies I am the most excited about.
A NERDY VET TOP 5 CinemaCon Highlights
5. HOW TO TRAIN YOUR DRAGON

OK, I will be the first to admit that when How to Train Your Dragon was announced, I said, “No way am I going to watch this”. Well, after seeing the teaser for the movie and talking with people who have already seen it. I am now one of the ones who can’t wait to see it. Hiccup and Toothless’s return on June 11, 2027.
4. LILO & STITCH

Lilo & Stitch is another movie I wondered why they were doing a live-action version. Well, just like How to Train Your Dragon, once I saw the trailer, I was sold. Lilo & Stitch just has that feel-good movie vibe. This will definitely be a movie you will want to go see with your whole family. Lilo & Stitch releases in theaters on May 23.
3. M3GAN 2.0

M3GAN is back! But now she is not alone. How can you not be excited about this film? The original A.I. bitch is about to meet her match and maybe even become good. This looks like a move that is going to have a ton of blood and action, and really what more do you want? M3GAN 2.0 is coming to theaters on June 27, 2025.
2. TRON ARES

When I was a kid, I fell in love with the first Tron movie. I was just as excited when Tron: Legacy came out in 2010. Now, in 2025, we are getting Tron: Ares. From what I was told, the footage shown at CinemaCon showed a light cycle cutting a car in half, as well as various vehicles of the grid coming into our world, and it looked amazing. October 10th can not come soon enough.
1: Thunderbolts*

I have been excited about this movie for a long time. I mean, how great is this unconventional team of antiheroes? With Bucky Barnes, Yelena Belova, Red Guardian, U.S. Agent, Taskmaster, Sentry, Ghost, and Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, you don’t know what to expect throughout this film, and that is what I am excited about. On top of that the trailers have been good, so I am excited Thunderbolts* releases in theaters on May 2, 2025.
