It wouldn’t be a Mission: Impossible movie if it didn’t take things to the extreme. So for the final film in the long-running action franchise, things will really go above and beyond – and we’re not just talking about Tom Cruise’s stunts.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning revealed a new behind-the-scenes look at the upcoming feature today. The clip released by Paramount shows off what on-location filming looked like for the film’s cinematic winter scenes. The cast and crew went to Svalbard, Norway, to capture these moments in sub-zero temperatures. Check out the new BTS clip below.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning will see Tom Cruise reprise his franchise role as Ethan Hunt. The feature also stars Hayley Atwell, Ving Rhames, Simon Pegg, Esai Morales, Pom Klementieff, Henry Czerny, Holt McCallany, Janet McTeer, Nick Offerman, Hannah Waddingham, Tramell Tillman and Angela Bassett, Shea Whigham, Greg Tarzan Davis, Charles Parnell, and Mark Gatiss, with Rolf Saxon and Lucy Tulugarjuk.
Paramount’s official synopsis of the film simply reads, “Our lives are the sum of our choices. Tom Cruise is Ethan Hunt in Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning.” While plot specifics remain scarce, the feature is expected to continue the story set up by the previous installment, Dead Reckoning, which saw Hunt and his allies taking on a dangerous AI called The Entity. And of course, fans can expect some intense action and world-threatening stakes headed into this final chapter.
Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning premieres in theaters May 23.
