It’s almost time for a new Wes Anderson film. Today, Focus Features revealed the official trailer for The Phoenician Scheme.

The logline for the feature describes it simply as “the story of a family and a family business”. The trailer offers slightly more insight, delivered in uniquely Anderson style. Glimpses at the film include a plane crash, a nun heir to a family fortune, a bit of surprise dynamite, a suicide pill, and a nightclub, among other quick details.

Check out the trailer for The Phoenician Scheme below.

The film stars Benicio del Toro as Zsa-zsa Korda, one of the richest men in Europe; Mia Threapleton as Liesl, his daughter/a nun; and Michael Cera as Bjorn, their tutor. Additional stars appearing in the feature include Riz Ahmed, Tom Hanks, Bryan Cranston, Mathieu Amalric, Richard Ayoade, Jeffrey Wright, Scarlett Johansson, Benedict Cumberbatch, Rupert Friend, and Hope Davis.

The Phoenician Scheme marks director Wes Anderson’s third collaboration with Focus Features, following 2012’s Moonrise Kingdom and 2023’s Asteroid City. Anderson wrote the film’s screenplay based on a story co-created by Roman Coppola.
