“Coco 2” is in the works at Pixar Animation Studios. The announcement was made by CEO Bob Iger during the Walt Disney Company’s annual meeting of shareholders. This is a sequel to Disney and Pixar’s follow up to the 2017 hit animated feature film, “Coco”.

“While the film is just in the initial stages, we know it will be full of humor, heart and adventure,” said Iger. “And we can’t wait to share more soon.”

According to Disney, “Coco 2” will reunite the team behind the original film. This includes Oscar-winning director Lee Unkrich, and co-director Adrian Molina. As well as Oscar-winning producer Mark Nielson will produce

During its theatrical run “Coco”, made over $814 million according to Box Office Mojo, and has been embraced by the Mexican community for its interpretation of Mexican culture .
