The Day The Earth Blew Up: A Looney Tunes Movie was the first fully animated Looney Tunes movie to ever hit theaters. Now, it’ll be heading home on Blu-ray and DVD on May 27th. The hand-drawn, 2D-animated movie was saved by Ketchup Entertainment after Warner Bros. sold the film off. They did the same recently with the movie Coyote Vs. Acme.
Here’s a synopsis of the film for those that haven’t seen it:
Porky Pig and Daffy Duck are Earth’s unlikely heroes when their antics at the local bubble gum factory uncover a secret alien mind control plot. Faced with cosmic odds, the two are determined to save their town (and the world)… that is, if they don’t drive each other totally looney in the process.
Eric Bauza voices Porky Pig and Daffy Duck with other performances from Candi Milo, Peter MacNicol, Wayne Knight, Laraine Newman, and Fred Tatasciore. The movie was directed by Peter Browngardt, who also collaborated on the script with Darrick Bachman, Kevin Costello, Andrew Dickman, David Gemmill, Alex Kirwan, Ryan Kramer, Jason Reicher, Michael Ruocco, Johnny Ryan, and Eddie Trigueros.
There are no special features announced for the release yet. But they do have an artwork mockup of the cover.
