The legendary actor Val Kilmer passed away at the age of 65 earlier tonight. Fans of his can remember him in plenty of legendary roles like Batman, Doc Holliday, Ice Man, and more. He was a master of the stage and screen, beloved by multiple generations.

Kilmer absolutely commanded the screen anytime he was on it. He died due to complications from pneumonia in Los Angeles, his daughter confirmed to the New York Times. He was diagnosed with throat cancer in 2015. The powerful documentary, Val, shined a light on his life in 2021.

He wasn’t just limited to roles in Tombstone and Batman though. Kilmer absolutely slayed in Heat, giving generations the blueprint for a bank robbing badass.

He was married to actress Joanne Whalley in 1988 until 1996. He also starred as the troubled Jim Morrison in The Doors.

Val Kilmer was born on New Year’s Eve 1959 in Chatsworth, CA.
