Star Wars Celebration is flying high over in Japan on Day 3! That Hashtag Show is in the room for all the Ahsoka and Andor updates from the massive Star Wars convention. As things get off the ground tonight, we’ll give you the latest we’re hearing directly from the show panels! Let’s dive in.
Check out our recap of the Star Wars presentations down below:
Andor
With the Disney+ series so close to release, Diego Luna and more of the cast step to the stage. The Andor star teases fans that they should expect “a lot of familiar faces.” Luna also mentioned that fans are going to want to revisit Rogue One: A Star Wars Story after finishing Andor Season 2…
(That’s a tease for something fun. In his words, the movie will “feel different.)

Series creator Tony Gilroy says that each week, three episodes will be released. And, with every three episodes, one year jumps. Sanne Wohlenberg mentions that there are 700 costumes, 152 creatures, 30 droids, and over 4100 VFX shots in this season.
“We feel like we’ve been sitting on a little bit of a diamond, and we can’t wait to share it with you.” – Genevieve O’Reilly
“This season takes us to whole new worlds.” We’re gonna see Mon Mothma’s ancestral planet, and she teases a wedding. “We go to some dark places this season … she must step out of the shadows and risk everything.”
Season 2 Changes Things

Next up is Denise Gough, who plays Dedra Meero. She says that “things get real strange. The actress also jokes that she’s less “girl boss” this season and more “fascist” this time around.
Adria Arjona says, “We had all of you in mind for every single decision throughout the show.”
The fans really get out of their seats for Alan Tudyk. He smirks that he “always held out hope” for a return. There’s a quip about “K2 Fast K2 Furious” as a spinoff. Diego Luna smiles and says, “I missed Alan very badly.” Viewers will discover how K2S0 and Andor meet in the upcoming episodes…

Ahsoka
Over to Ahsoka! Dave Filoni, Jon Favreau, and Rosario Dawson hit the stage to start us off. A lot of joking about how many Filoni creations are running around on Star Wars TV now. There’s plenty of love for the George Lucas era as well.
As if on cue, Hayden Christensen strolls out to wild applause. Dawson revealed that we’re close to filming. She said, “We’re about to go into it in about a week when we start filming.”

Filoni goes long on Ray Stevenson. “Season 2 was honestly a big challenge in many ways,” Filoni. “A big challenge because of losing Ray, who was just the greatest person … Ray was the most beautiful person onscreen and off … It was a challenge for me to even consider continuing for a while …”
“I’m very confident now that Ray would be happy with the direction that we’ve chosen,” he added. “I’ve spoken to his family about it … The character was meant to be important … It led us to the idea of bringing someone else to play the part … Felt very fortunate that we found Rory McCan … He takes it very seriously. It takes it very to heart. He has such respect for Ray and what Ray brought to this.”

Favreau adds, “Star Wars is about family, about people, about relationships … I’m really looking forward to how these relationships have developed…”
Familiar Faces Back In The Fold

Admiral Akbar is back! Filoni reveals that “Akbar is going to go head-to-head with Thrawn.” There’s also some new arrivals to the creatures gallery. Loth-kittens are here.
Filoni jokes that they’re going to pay some bills over at Lucasfilm. He said they’re “all the rage. They come in several colors.” Dawson has been hard at work on lightsaber training. The noti are coming back too.
When directly asked if he’s going to be in Season 2, Christensen remains mum on the topic. However, we do get a small confirmation. The Star Wars veteran said, “There’s not much I can share, but Anakin will be back for Season 2.”
Then, we’re treated to a cool retro-flavored teaser using some art. Surprise, surprise, Zeb is going to be in the show this season 2. Ahsoka can’t get here fast enough!
