At the recent premiere and red carpet of Locked in New York, we were lucky enough to be able to speak with director David Yarovesky about the film, where he was promoting it alongside star Bill Skarsgård.
The director behind films such as James Gunn’s 2019 Brightburn, Yarovesky feels like a perfect fit for what Locked offers us. And, as a Sam Raimi fan, he just wanted to make sure that he did the director/producer justice. He also talks about his inspirations during filming and the influences certain films and decades had on the film itself.
‘LOCKED’ – DAVID YAROVESKY | THS INTERVIEW
About the film: When Eddie (Bill Skarsgård) breaks into a luxury SUV, he steps into a deadly trap set by William (Anthony Hopkins), a self-proclaimed vigilante delivering his own brand of twisted justice. With no means of escape, Eddie must fight to survive in a ride where escape is an illusion, survival is a nightmare, and justice shifts into high gear.
There is absolutely no shortage of action and tension in this film, alongside some great character-building. It is definitely one that you should watch in a theater with an audience.
Locked releases in theaters on March 21st.
