Following reports of a potential sale, Warner Bros has officially completed a deal for Coyote Vs Acme. Ketchup Entertainment confirmed that they have completed a deal for worldwide rights to the live-action/animated hybrid film. The deal is rumored to be in the $50M range. Although no release date has been provided, the film is expected to get a theatrical release in 2026. Coyote Vs Acme Saved

Coyote Vs Acme was first announced in 2019 and live-action filming took place during 2022. After the film was completed, it was shelved in late 2023 as a tax write-off for Warner Bros. This move generated a large amount of backlash, and the studio ultimately allowed the filmmakers to seek other distributors.

The film, directed by David Green, and starring Will Forte, John Cena, Lana Condor, and Tone Bell, sees Wile E. Coyote hire a lawyer to sue ACME for the repeated comical failures of their products in his endless bid to finally catch the roadrunner, and the bond that forms between Wile E. and his unlikely legal ally (Will Forte) as they take on the corporate might of ACME’s head honcho (John Cena).

Pictures to bring this film to audiences worldwide,” Ketchup CEO Gareth West said in a press release. “Coyote Vs Acme is a perfect blend of nostalgia and modern storytelling, capturing the essence of the beloved Looney Tunes characters while introducing them to a new generation. We believe it will resonate with both longtime fans and newcomers alike.”
