Leverage: Redemption has some brand-new heists for you in Season 3. Prime Video is bringing back this winning cast of characters for another set of banger episodes. That Hashtag Show was lucky enough to sit down with Christian Kane ahead of the April 17th release for Leverage: Redemption.
Kane clearly loves being Eliot Spencer. Honestly, the Leverage: Redemption star has been bringing the muscle of this team to life for years at this point. Making the leap over to Prime Video has seen a devoted fanbase willing to make that journey with them!
“We do this to give it to people,” Kane began. “These fans have always been in our corner and always really trusted us, which is important, but always have had our back. You don’t run this long. You don’t have this great of a show, and you certainly don’t have three or four venues where you can watch this stuff if it wasn’t for the fans. That’s why I said we make this for them.”
Getting The Crew Back Together
Prime Video’s continuation of the popular series has remained the same in the landscape of streaming. Feeling connected to all of these performers was absolutely crucial and creator Dean Devlin made sure to have that camaraderie rocking from the first scene they filmed.
Kane recalled, “When we started Leverage: Redemption again, it’s brilliant what he did. He didn’t start with me and Sophie talking, or me and Hardison doing some stuff. He put all of us, including Noah Wiley, who’s newer, and started with a team.”
“You know, we shoot out of order. He started with a scene with everything. And so, we were forced back into everybody acknowledging everyone, acting with everyone,” he added. “I think that’s the most brilliant thing he did because we were all a little nervous. It wasn’t like a scared feeling. It was a nervousness.”
“We were five minutes into it and we were all doing the same thing we used to do. Everybody found their character,” the star mused. “We’d all been playing other characters and we started playing these characters again. I mean, five minutes, man, and we were back in action. And, it’s just so easy to play these guys because we have so much fun doing it for as long as we have.”
Leverage: Redemption Season 3 & Maintaining A Community
One thing that sets Leverage: Redemption apart from some other shows is the community that’s formed up around this program. All the way back from the TNT days, to ION Network and now Prime Video, people have followed. Kane knows that rare in life and even rarer in the world of TV.
“The Leverage fans are so different from anybody else. I’ve talked to people non-stop about this,” Kane revealed. “They were used to the broadcast version. When the first season of Leverage: Redemption came out, they watched all of ’em. They just didn’t stop the TV.”

“Then, they got mad because they blew through it. I’ve talked to so many people that will watch two episodes a night, and wait,” he continued. “Even though they could! And wait until the next night to have dinner and bring the family in. We’re really a big family show.”
“So many people watching with their daughter, watchin with their son. They turn their phone off and get to it early,” the actor shared. “So, they can enjoy it. They’ve grown up with it. You know what I mean?”
What’s Coming In Leverage: Redemption Season 3?
Prime Video describes the latest entry in the long-running series:
“In Season 3 the team pits themselves against a power broker stealing the clean water under people’s feet and turning it into dirty money, fight against a mayor who’s literally the judge and jury of his small town, outrun a mark who’s finally caught up with them mid-con, outhustle a pool hustler with a side business in international extortion, and bring down an industrialist exploiting child labor.
All this while dodging an intricate plan of vengeance from a past enemy and working through the fallout of their new personal relationships. But no matter what, when someone needs help, they provide … Leverage.”
Leverage: Redemption season 3 premieres on Prime Video April 17. The first three episodes will debut on Thursday the 17th, followed by a new episode released weekly.
