The sequel to the instant classic Ready or Not has added some new blood to the film. The sequel, now known as Ready Or Not: Here I Come has added Sarah Michelle Gellar, Shawn Hatosy, Nestor Carbonell, Kevin Durand, and David Cronenberg to the cast. They join Samara Weaving and Kathryn Newton in the Radio Silence-directed film. Guy Busick and R. Christopher Murphy wrote the script.
Here’s what Matt Battinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett (Radio Silence) had to say about the film.
“We’re thrilled to be returning to the world of Ready or Not with Samara, Brett, Avery and Andrew, and so excited to work with this immensely talented cast and the incredible artists across every department joining the Ready or Not family.”
Here’s what Matthew Greenfield, President of Searchlight Pictures had to say.
“We’re beyond excited to make another film with the phenomenal Radio Silence. With Ready or Not: Here I Come, we get to go on another ride with the amazing Samara Weaving, mix in awesome new voices, and bring audiences a fresh take that’s every bit as twisted and fun as the first one. This is for those who’ve been waiting, and those who didn’t see it coming.”
Who Is Joining The Cast Of Ready Or Not: Here I Come?
Sarah Michelle Gellar is horror royalty at this point, playing roles in Buffy The Vampire Slayer, Scream 2, I Know What You Did Last Summer, and The Grudge. She also starred in the Scooby-Doo films. Elijah Wood is most well-known for his portrayal of Frodo Baggins in The Lord of the Rings trilogy, but he’s also done some recent work in horror movies including The Monkey and the upcoming Toxic Avenger remake that comes out in August.
Hatosy is a star of the runaway medical drama The Pitt. Carbonell starred in Christopher Nolan’s Batman films, Lost, The Morning Show, and others in a long career. He recently won the Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series for Shogun.
Kevin Durand previously worked with Radio Silence on their smash hit vampire movie, Abigail. He’s also starred in Kingdom of the Planet of the Apes, and the upcoming Clown in a Cornfield.
David Cronenberg needs no introduction, so it’s interesting to see him starring in this film. He’s directed classics like The Fly, Crimes of the Future, Crash, and the upcoming The Shrouds.
The sequel doesn’t have any plot details as of now, but it should follow Weaving continuing her night of hell from the first film.
