As seen by the four posters we posted about earlier in the week, Longlegs has quite the marketing team working on it. Now, the apex of that marketing has arrived with a new teaser trailer for the film. The upcoming serial killer movie sees the return of director/writer Osgood Perkins. It stars Maika Monroe and Nicolas Cage, with Monroe playing an FBI agent and Cage a serial killer.

It’s said that Longlegs is of a similar vein to classic Hollywood psychological thrillers.

The trailer doesn’t actually give very much away to the movie. It doesn’t even show off what Cage looks like in the film. Instead, it goes for more of a psychological look at the proceedings of chasing a serial killer. It seems that the killer is focusing on the Nine Circles Of Hell as a basis for their crimes, or at least the clues they’re leaving for Lee Harker (Monroe) to find. Check out the trailer below, Longlegs releases in theaters on July 12th, 2024.

Here’s the official synopsis for Longlegs.

“FBI Agent Lee Harker (Monroe) is a gifted new recruit assigned to the unsolved case of an elusive serial killer (Cage). As the case takes complex turns, unearthing evidence of the occult, Harker discovers a personal connection to the merciless killer and must race against time to stop him before he claims the lives of another innocent family.”

We’ll have to see how Longlegs turns out, but from that trailer, it looks absolutely terrifying.
