The live-action adaptation of Five Nights at Freddy’s from director Emma Tammi…did not do particularly well. Mostly on the critical front, where critics seemed to have universally given it a panning of the ages. Mostly due to a perceived lack of effective horror, unintentional comedy, and odd story. And yet, the film was also a commercial success story. It made back nearly $300 million USD out of a budget consisting of a mere $20 million USD. No matter how you look at it, this live-action adaptation of the survival horror game franchise by Scott Cawthon is a major commercial success.

All this explains why it’s going to get a sequel in the form of Five Nights at Freddy’s 2. It also explains why Blumhouse really wants to promote this sequel. Fortunately, at CinemaCon 2025, they got a chance to do just that by dropping an official teaser trailer for this sequel on YouTube. It’s a sequel that also features Emma Tammi returning as the director, and will also make its NA theatrical debut on December 5, 2025. Alas, tickets for it are not on sale yet. However, you can purchase and watch the first Five Nights at Freddy’s film directly from its official website on Universal Pictures.

Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 Reveals Official Teaser Trailer

Who decided to make these animatronics have superhuman strength anyways?

To be honest, Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 doesn’t look too bad based on that teaser. Yeah, it looks cheesy and silly for a horror film. However, I do believe that is the point. The original games had that kind of cheesy narm charm to them in spite of the tenseness of the horror setting. It’s kind of hard not to find the premise silly when you’re a security guard who knowingly decides to work in a haunted restaurant under shady circumstances. This might be worth a watch, really.

What do you all think? Do you think this teaser gives Five Nights at Freddy’s 2 a bit of narm charm to it? Does it pique your horror-comedy interests? Give us your opinion below in the comments section.
