Dangerous Animals celebrated the movie’s premiere in dangerous waters down in Texas. Alamo Drafthouse Cinema, IFC Films, and Shudder all joined forces to make a splash at Volente Beach down in Austin. Director Sean Byrne and Dangerous Animals star Hassie Harrison were on-hand to welcome everyone into the deep!
Austin Chronicle writer Richard Whittaker hosted a Q+A for Dangerous Animals with the associated press and fans in attendance. The pictures from the movie are pretty surreal as each attendee had an innertube they sat in on the water while the screening played. 400 fans were there taking in the food and drink while looking out for any sharks that may have snuck their way in. Check out some of the wild scenes down below!

My San Antonio caught up with Harrison to talk about dipping her toe into these waters. “You look at any other shark movie, and the shark is always the villain, so it’s cool to switch that on its head,” Harrison revealed. “There’s a real appetite for shark movies. People love them. I feel like Dangerous Animals found a fresh take. I feel like this movie is in a league of its own.”
“It makes you feel more capable,” she added. “Getting to play such a badass is really good for my own personal swagger.”
What’s Coming In Dangerous Animals?

Here’s how IFC Films describes the upcoming movie: “When Zephyr, a rebellious surfer, is abducted by a shark-obsessed serial killer and held captive on his boat, she must figure out how to escape before he carries out a ritualistic feeding to the sharks below.”
