That Hashtag Show has a busy weekend at the theater with The Woman In The Yard and A Working Man. If that weren’t enough, there’s also A24’s latest effort to watch, and some choice viewing for time on the couch. Seth Rogen’s Apple TV+ series is a standout, and Netflix has brought Michelle Buteau back to us for more Survival of the Thickest! Let’s get right into our picks for this week.
The Woman In The Yard – Now In Theaters
Jaume Collet-Serra is back for a creepy installment courtesy of producers Jason Blum and Stephanie Allain. That’s a lot of pedigree and horror fans are going to find something to like with this moody little flick starring Danielle Deadwyler. Her character Ramona moves away from it all after distinct personal tragedy. However, Ramona’s small family notices a menacing woman clad in all-black near their house. That can’t possibly be good! And wouldn’t you know it? It’s not! Come for Deadwyler’s performance here.
A Working Man – Now In Theaters

Jason Statham is a reliable watch. Find an underrepresented career path, have him end up on the wrong side of some injustice, and let him really go to town on some bad guys. (This time there are no bees?) Human traffickers are the villains in question this time. All the more reason to root on our hero, Levon Cade. Micheal Pena, David Harbour and Eve Mauro are all in here for the ride. Obviously, you know if you’re down for A Working Man or not by that trailer.
Death of a Unicorn – Now in Theaters
A24 just can’t say no to a strange premise. And, we’re glad they’re sticking to that. Paul Rudd and Jenna Ortega play a father daughter tandem charged with doing strange research for a shadowy billionaire. Unfortunately, they run afoul of some Unicorns during their journey to the rich guy’s house. If you’ve ever wanted to see a mythical creature with some real edge, you’ve come to the right place!
The Studio – Streaming on Apple TV+

Seth Rogen’s latest project is a series satirizing the wild business of Hollywood. It’s a wild town, and this show makes sure you get that. Some of the fun in The Studio probably lies in finding what the creative team is referencing within the walls of Continental Studios. We have to mention a powerhouse cast here. Kathryn Hahn, Catherine O’Hara, Bryan Cranson, and a host of other familiar faces fall through. Finding ways to make art you’re proud of in a studio system can be tricky. But, Rogen can feel good about his effort here!
Survival of the Thickest – Streaming on Netflix
Michelle Buteau is back for another round of hysterical adventures in Survival of the Thickest over on Netflix. Mavis Beaumont is figuring out what happiness looks like for her. Last season brought some bumps in the road, but things are going to be different this time around… Or are they? Buteau is truly one of our most underrated comedic voices. It’s not hyperbole to say that Survival of the Thickest slots in as one of the most unique offerings on TV right now. You should give it a look.
Adolescence – Streaming on Netflix
The show that everyone is talking about. Adolescence is a four-part limited series with one main stylistic flourish that flows into every choice in the show. It’s tragic, shocking and sure to spark conversation among the people who’ve seen it. Be forewarned, it gets a little bit harrowing. So, if you like your weekend viewing a little lighter, maybe space this one out a bit. Viewers who get engrossed in big moving stories are likely to push right through to get to the heart of this show. High recommendation for this one.
Side Quest – Streaming on Apple TV+
Big Mythic Quest fan? Be sure to tap-in for this one. Rob McElhenney stars in the spinoff of the popular series. Four unique stories follow people who love these games. We’ve got comic book shop owners, art department lifers, touring orchestra musicians and more on-hand for this. With the Apple TV+ budget, it all looks very slick and chances are you’ll have some laughs too. D&D and Video Game fans will have a good time.
Bosch Legacy – Streaming on Prime Video
Titus Welliver’s fan-favorite series reaches a climax with Season 3. Prime Video brought this police procedural back and viewers have responded very well, including our own THS review. Honey Chandler and Bosch have found themselves pulling in the same direction in this follow-up to the original series. April 17th will be the big finale. Michael Connelly’s Desert Star and The Black Ice provide inspiration for this season of Bosch: Legacy.
