The Force is going to be strong at this year’s FAN EXPO Chicago. Today, FAN EXPO announced that Star Wars and Moulin Rouge star Ewan McGregor will be coming to the Windy City for FAN EXPO Chicago. This convention will take place August 15-17, 2025, at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont, Illinois. You can check out the official announcement below.

EWAN MCGREGOR JOINS FAN EXPO CHICAGO

Chicago’s longest-running comic and pop culture convention, FAN EXPO Chicago, today announced that global film, television, and stage superstar, STAR WARS’s Obi-Wan Kenobi himself, Ewan McGregor is set to join this year’s show, running August 15 – 17, 2025 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont. Autograph sessions and photo ops with McGregor go on sale April 17, 2025 at 10 a.m.

Ewan McGregor’s storied filmography represents numerous fandoms, from arthouse cinema to musical theatre fans, to the biggest sci-fi franchise in history. McGregor first gained attention for his turn as Renton in 1996’s TRAINSPOTTING, a role he reprised in 2017. Audiences fell head over heels in love with Christian, MOULIN ROUGE!’s optimistic young writer, and fought the Dark Side alongside Obi-Wan Kenobi in the STAR WARS prequels and, later, the titular Disney+ limited series. His work spans genres, including cult classic A LIFE LESS ORDINARY; beloved drama BEGINNERS; Tim Burton’s BIG FISH; the animated ROBOTS, and a return to the Overlook Hotel in supernatural thriller DOCTOR SLEEP, the follow up to Stanley Kubrick’s THE SHINING.

McGregor joins previously announced celebrity guests including PIRATES OF THE CARIBBEAN and THE LORD OF THE RINGS star Orlando Bloom; THE BOOK OF BOBA FETT’s Ming-Na Wen; CLUELESS star Alicia Silverstone; THE GOOD PLACE and THE ACOLYTE’s Manny Jacinto; TWILIGHT fan favorites Kellan Lutz and Peter Facinelli; and DOCTOR WHO’s Jodie Whittaker and Mandip Gill; with more guest announcements to come; at this year’s FAN EXPO.

FAN EXPO Chicago runs August 15 – 17, 2025 at the Donald E. Stephens Convention Center in Rosemont.
