CinemaCon 2025 is in the books! The annual theatrical trade convention is hosted yearly by Cinema United, formerly known as NATO. The show closes with a big celebration at the 2025 Big Screen Achievement Awards at Caesars Palace in Las Vegas, sponsored by the show’s official presenting sponsor, Coca-Cola.
The award ceremony is meant to recognize the fantastic achievements of some of your favorite actors behind the movies. This is one of the few occasions when the theatrical industry, the actors, and filmmakers can show their gratitude for one another.
For Lionsgate, one of the studios presenting at CinemaCon, had three honorees during the Big Screen Achievement Awards. They are listed below!
CINEMACON 2025 LIONSGATE AWARD WINNERS
Ana De Armas – “Action Sar of the Year”
Ana De Armas was a focal point in Lionsgate’s presentation at CinemaCon as she stars in “Ballerina”, a spin-off from the John Wick franchise that opens in theaters on June 6. She has starred in many other well-known franchises, including “Knives Out”, “Blade Runner 2049”, and the James Bond film, “No Time To Die”. This is the first time ever a woman has been presented this honor.
Mark Hamill – “Cinema Icon Award”
“Mark Hamill’s career is proof that great characters don’t just live on the screen—they live within us, galvanizing generations of audiences worldwide,” said Mitch Neuhauser, Managing Director, CinemaCon. Hamill is best known for his role as Luke Skywalker in the “Star Wars” franchise that started back in 1977. Now 48 years later, he has a role in three films being released this year. This includes Lionsgate’s “The Long Walk”.
David Jonsson – “The Next Generation Award”
Speaking of “The Long Walk”, David Jonsson will star alongside Hamill in the film. The BAFTA award-winning actor received great reviews for his role as an android in Fede Alvarez’s “Alien: Romulus”. He has a few upcoming projects, including Colman Domingo’s Scandalous.
