The Fantastic Four: First Steps revealed a new poster and teased more about the tone of the film. Disney took the stage at CinemaCon yesterday and showed off a new trailer for The Fantastic Four: First Steps. The new poster for the Marvel movie features the silhouette of Reed Richards, Sue Storm, Ben Grimm and Johnny Storm against a powder blue backdrop. A stylized 4 insignia forms the line they’re all standing on.
Marvel is dishing out even more news after showing off some new footage with exciting details like an addition to Marvel’s First Family and the arrival of Julia Garner’s Silver Surfer. The Fantastic Four: First Steps director Matt Shakman talked to Empire Magazine about the hopeful tone of the upcoming blockbuster.

“This is very much about the spirit of the Space Race. It’s about JFK and optimism,” Shakman explains. “It’s imagining these four going into space instead of Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin.
He continued, “This idea is that they are the most famous people in America, because they’re adventurers, explorers, astronauts — not because they’re superheroes. And they come back, and they’re superheroes on top of it. But primarily they’re astronauts, they’re family.”
The Fantastic Four: First Steps Poster Hints At An MCU Shakeup
The Fantastic Four: First Steps has drawn even more attention since the unveiling of the cast for Avengers: Doomsday. Pedro Pascal, Vanessa Kirby, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Joseph Quinn all had their own chair as part of that memorable marketing push. However, The Fantastic Four: First Steps is clearly set in an alternate timeline. MCU fans all over are wondering, how do they get to the universe we’ve been following all this time?
Here’s how Marvel describes the cosmic adventure: “Set against the vibrant backdrop of a 1960s-inspired, retro-futuristic world, Marvel Studios’ The Fantastic Four: First Steps introduces Marvel’s First Family—Reed Richards/Mister Fantastic, Sue Storm/Invisible Woman, Johnny Storm/Human Torch and Ben Grimm/The Thing as they face their most daunting challenge yet.”
