Attack on Titan is quite possibly one of the strangest anime to ever go mainstream. I mean, seriously, just look at the manga of the same name by Hajime Isayama that the anime was adapted from. It’s an ultra-violent dark fantasy and postapocalyptic story featuring the main cast’s fight against creepy giants that want to eat people. By all rights, it really should be a niche seinen anime like Berserk. And yet, that’s clearly not the case here. A large part of that is due to the efforts of Wit Studio (Seasons 1-3) and MAPPA (Season 4), who both did a marvelous job with the anime adaptation. Featuring quality animation and uniquely excellent music, that anime has helped make both it and the manga famous worldwide.
Indeed, it’s that fame which explains why the ongoing “Attack on Titan – The Official Concert – Beyond the Walls World Tour” is getting so much attention. Especially since it just recently had a very successful tour in Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, CA on April 12-13, 2025. Featuring music by composers Hiroyuki SAWANO and KOHTA YAMAMOTO (same as in the anime), a live orchestra and vocalists perform in that orchestra. Complete with anime visuals happening onscreen to enhance the experience to boot.

Honestly, this world tour of Attack on Titan‘s OST shows just how popular the anime is. When you have a live orchestra and actual vocalists covering your soundtrack, you know you’ve made it big. If there was any doubt that this anime is mainstream, this world tour has just disproved them.
