RoboForce is a franchise that only a very few people will be familiar with. That’s because when we last saw it, it was a line of toys that the Ideal Toy Company created all the way back in 1984. As you can imagine though, it didn’t do all that well. There was an attempt by Toyfinity to revive the toy line in 2013, but that didn’t do too well either. They ended up having to sell the line to The Nacelle Company in 2021. These days, those toys are vintage collectors’ items, but mostly only by the diehard toy collectors.

However, it looks like The Nacelle Company want to revive the toy line once again. This time, via a brand new animated series simply titled RoboForce: The Animated Series. This is an animated adaptation of the toy line featuring Dwayne Johnson, Brian Volk-Weiss, and Dany Garcia as the executive producers. Not only that, but it’s the first season of the company’s attempt to make a NacelleVerse, which is an interconnected media franchise featuring Biker Mice from Mars, Sectaurs, Wild West C.O.W.-Boys of Moo Mesa, Power Lords, Barnyard Commandos, and The Great Garloo. In fact, the company has an official synopsis to tease the plot of the series, which you can read below:

“In 2089 Detroit, RoboForce was rendered obsolete by the more advanced UA 101 bots and forced into the dregs of society, with no hope of being heroes. That is until a mysterious code virus infects the 101’s, and no one besides RoboForce can stop them and save civilization.”

You can watch all six episodes of the first season of RoboForce: The Animated Series only on Tubi.

RoboForce: The Animated Series Beginning the NacelleVerse?

I think I smell a bit of WALL-E in this show, but as a shonen anime-like series?

I have to admit, this came right out of left field for me. A revival of RoboForce in this day and age is most unexpected, let alone as an animated series. Amazingly, it looks like it might even have a decent story? It reminds me a bit of WALL-E, but in a much more action-packed setting. I think if you’re a fan of silly robots doing silly things, then this might be the show for you.

What do you all think? Does RoboForce: The Animated Series pique your interest just a little? Does it bring back some nostalgia for the good ol’ days of Saturday morning cartoons? Give us your thoughts in the comments section below.
