Yoda taught Luke the future is always in motion. I do not know about anyone else, but I’m starting to get motion sickness. Every time we plan for an event it gets canceled or moved do to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite being a non-live event, it appears even books are not immune to this delaying pandemic. The much anticipated High Republic release has moved again.
High Republic Release Moves Again: Delays Hit The Books and Comics
In today’s world where we are stuck at home, home projects are in high demand. This is the perfect time to sit down with a new book series and immerse one’s self. The new print era know as the High Republic would be a perfect read right now, but sadly it is being moved to the beginning of 2021. Then when it releases, it will hit rapid fire.
Star Wars: The High Republic: Light of the Jedi by Charles Soule will be the first adult novel of the series. Justina Ireland’s book leans towards middle grades – Star Wars: The High Republic: A Test of Courage. Both of these first two books will now release January 5, 2021. Claudia Gray, the hottest author in Star Wars right now, wrote a young adult novel Star Wars: The High Republic: Into the Dark. This book comes out February 2, 2021, and do not let the term ‘young adult’ deter you.
The linked comics, Star Wars: The High Republic series from Marvel and IDW Publishing’s Star Wars: The High Republic Adventures series lack release dates for right now.
High Republic Release Moves Again: A Needed New Era
The release of these books cannot come fast enough. Not only is boredom a way of life for many people right now, but this series could very well initiate the healing the Star Wars Universe needs right now.
The Mandalorian began the healing with its breakthrough season over on Disney+. Hopefully, this new series of books and comics can help the process. These stories open an all new era devoid of Skywalkers and other beloved characters. Characters that fans have taken issue with for the way Disney portrayed them.
This new era will develop an undiscovered trove of stories from when the Jedi and Republic were at their peaks. With all new characters and ships, it should help revive the Star Wars imagination.
