The coronavirus pandemic has caused another set of movies to get pushed back. Earlier today we had Fast and the Furious 9 and A Quiet Place Part II pushed out. Now Disney is moving Mulan and The New Mutants out of their respective release slots. Both films are without release dates now.
Movie theaters in the US haven’t begun shutting down or going dark yet. They could be in areas that have a higher proliferation of cases. COVID-19 has been sweeping the world after starting up in China earlier in the year. It’s a rough time for movie fans. One can only hope that the packed slate later in the year doesn’t destroy all of these films coming out.
Black Widow hasn’t been pushed out of it’s current slot. No Time To Die was the first film to move out of the current period and into November.
Rough News For The New Mutants
The New Mutants already was having a rough patch. Disney bought 21st Century Fox. The film wasn’t treated as an A+ title from Disney. Instead of releasing it in theaters, they should put it on Disney+. It would make sense as they have a lack of original content for the platform right now. A “Marvel” movie going up on the service could be just what they need.
It’s a trying time for everyone right now, but we have to take news like this with a grain of salt. If people who are sick aren’t crowding into theaters, then they can stay home and recover. Everyone needs to be sensible at a time like this. Don’t panic, and don’t overreact.
