Tired of the same old, teen angst trope when it comes to young adult movies? Well, you’re in luck. Snatchers hilariously blows that trope out of the water. Hailed as “Aliens meets Mean Girls“, Variety describes the film as one of the “11 Best Movies of the 2019 SXSW Film Festival.” And you can now own it on digital! To celebrate today’s digital release of the horror-comedy, Warner Bros. presents us with a never-before-seen clip from the film, which you can watch below.
The official synopsis for Snatchers reads as follows:
Senior year is going to rule! Thanks to her relationship with clueless hunk Skyler, Sara is totally in with the cool girls. But Skyler contracted an extraterrestrial bug during his summer vacation. After just one night together, Sara discovers she’s Nine. Months. Pregnant. Desperate to keep her condition on the DL, she turns to the only person she can trust: her nerdy ex-bestie, Hayley. The girls soon realize this alien problem is only just the beginning. Aliens had best beware in this hilarious comedy filled with action and tongue-in-cheek teen spirit.

Snatchers stars a number of younger actors many teen viewers will find familiar, including: Mary Nepi (Not Cool) as Sara, Gabrielle Elyse (Nickelodeon’s “Nicky, Ricky, Dicky & Dawn,” “The Thundermans”) Hayley, J.J Nolan (“The Mindy Project,” “Silicon Valley”) as Kate, and Austin Fryberger (“Huge In France”) as Skyler. Stephen Cedars, Benji Kleiman, and Scott Yacyshyn earn writing credits. Cedars and Kleiman also direct this fun, genre mash-up.
In the Snatchers sneak-peek video above, you’ll see Sara “trying to find answers as she questions her ex-boyfriend Skylar on what happened in Mexico.” Something tells us, however, that Skylar isn’t exactly forthcoming about everything that happened south of the border….
The film is now available on digital media platforms today, January 7th. Blu-ray combo pack and DVD editions arrive next month on February 18th. Will you be catching this one? Let us know in the comments below!
