John Krasinski has certainly come a long way from The Office. First was his critically-acclaimed directorial debut, A Quiet Place. Lately he’s been executively producing Jack Ryan for Amazon Prime Video. Oh, and he just happens to star in the iconic, title role, as well. Fans couldn’t get enough of the show following its suspenseful first season. Thankfully they don’t have to wait long for Season 2: Jack returns November 1. Today at New York Comic-Con 2019, fans were treated to the world premier showing the second season’s first episode. [WARNING: mild spoilers ahead.]

After tracking a potentially suspicious shipment of illegal arms in the Venezuelan jungle, CIA Officer Jack Ryan (Krasinski) heads down to South America to investigate. As Jack’s investigation threatens to uncover a far-reaching conspiracy, the President of Venezuela launches a counter-attack that hits home for Jack, leading him and his fellow operatives on a global mission spanning the United States, UK, Russia, and Venezuela to unravel the President’s nefarious plot and bring stability to a country on the brink of chaos.”
Jack Ryan Season 2 starts off with a bang
Returning for Jack Ryan Season 2, along with Krasinski, is Wendel Pierce (Jim Greer). Additionally, joining them this season are veteran actors Noomi Rapace (The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo) and Michael Kelly (House of Cards). They play Harriet “Harry” Baumann and CIA station chief Mike November, respectively. Season 2 will be “bigger, more intense, and much more personal for Jack,” Krasinski explained to the NYCC 2019 crowd. Rapace credited Krasinksi with creating an “intimate,” family-like setting among the cast during production.
Jack Ryan Season 2 kicks off with a mysterious ship launching a more mysterious missile in the South China Sea. It turns out it was carrying an unregistered satellite, the purpose of which becomes Greer’s main focus. Jack, meanwhile, is investigating the same ship as he believes it to be carrying illegal Russian arms to Venezuela. When diplomacy fails, Jack finds himself a target once again, suffering great personal loss along the way.
New locations, enemies, characters and villains seem poised to make this season of Jack Ryan even more intense than the first. Therefore, you might want to have your popcorn ready come November 1st.
