It’s no surprise to anyone that Netflix is looking to get even more into the anime department. As anime is getting more and more mainstream, it’s becoming a big enterprise throughout the world. It makes total sense for Netflix to try to capitalize on that, and get a slice of that anime money. All with some new anime content to attract that money, of course.

Which is why Netflix keeps hosting their annual AnimeJapan event, of course. In fact, this year’s AnimeJapan 2025 has a couple of anime featured in the event. The first and most obvious is an upcoming anime called Moonrise from Wit Studio. It will premiere on Netflix in April 10, 2025. In fact, the announcement comes with a brand new official trailer that you can check out below:

And in fact you haven’t noticed: Hiromu Arakawa is the character designer here.

That’s not all though. Netflix also revealed at AnimeJapan 2025 that they will be streaming part 2 of the final season of BEASTARS from Orange, just as they have been streaming the previous seasons here. Alas, the announcement does not come with a trailer. Heck, it doesn’t even come with a release date or even a release window. All we have is the Japanese key art belo:

I see the day and night analogy there.

And lastly, Netflix also reveals the upcoming stop motion anime My Melody & Kuromi from Toruku Studio. As you can tell from the art style, the anime is based off of the Sanrio (Hello Kitty) characters Melody and Kuromi. Alas, we have no trailer for this anime either. Fortunately though, the key art does actually come with a release window of July 2025. You can actually see that below:

I sense a fluffy anime inbound, both figuratively and literally.

Moonrise, BEASTARS, and My Melody & Kuromi Coming Soon to Netflix

It certainly looks like Netflix is looking to take on Crunchyroll in the anime streaming department. Quite fitting, as Netflix has been doing that for years now. This is part of their latest efforts, but at least we have a bunch of new anime inbound for us to watch when they eventually make their streaming debut.

What do you all think? Any chance these new and returning anime series might make you consider getting a Netflix subscription? Please let us know in the comments section below.
