Studio Ghibli fans, get ready to head to IMAX. GKIDS announced today that it will celebrate the 40th anniversary of Studio Ghibli with a special re-release of Princess Mononoke in theaters.
Specifically, the special event will see the new 4K restoration of Princess Mononoke arrive in IMAX theaters. Screenings begin on March 26, and will only run for a limited time. So, get your tickets now!
The film will screen in IMAX in both its original Japanese with English subtitles, and the English dubbed version.
About Princess Mononoke
From the legendary Studio Ghibli, creators of Spirited Away, and Academy Award®-winning director Hayao Miyazaki, comes an epic masterpiece that has dazzled audiences worldwide with its breathtaking imagination, exhilarating battles, and deep humanity.
Inflicted with a deadly curse, the young warrior Ashitaka heads west in search of a cure. The film comes from writer/director Hayao Miyazaki and producer Toshio Suzuki. It features music by Joe Hisaishi.
The English dub voice cast includes Gillian Anderson, Billy Crudup, Claire Danes, Minnie Driver, Jada Pinkett Smith.
