Rachel Zegler performed Waiting on a Wish from Disney’s Snow White live in Tokyo. The star of the upcoming film is really proud of the first single from Walt Disney Records’ original soundtrack. Local actress and singer Sakura Kiryu joined her on-stage. In the Japanese version of Disney’s Snow White, she provides the voice for the character.

There were hundreds of fans who turned up for the red carpet. Zegler and Kiryu made sure they got to see quite a show at Roppongi Hils Arena. “Waiting on a Wish” has a powerhouse creative team behind the microphone. EGOT winners Benj Pasek and Justin Paul wrote the single. In addition, Jack Feldman wrote some additional lyrics. Check out the performance right here! 

Disney’s Snow White Star Rachel Zegler Debuts Single

This new version of Snow White is not just a cover of the animated classic. Disney has updated some of the touches and made some interesting choices for live-action films. As you saw above, Zegler really can sing, so expect a lot of those songs to remain intact. Here’s what the studio has to say about the movie.

“Disney’s Snow White is a live-action musical reimagining of the classic 1937 film. The magical music adventure journeys back to the timeless story with beloved characters Bashful, Doc, Dopey, Grumpy, Happy, Sleepy, and Sneezy. 

They continue: “Disney’s Snow White is directed by Marc Webb and produced by Marc Platt and Jared LeBoff, with Callum McDougall serving as executive producer, and features all-new original songs from Benj Pasek and Justin Paul.”
