Disney’s successful Descendants franchise just got a little bigger. The upcoming fifth feature film in the series added four cast members today, Deadline reports. New stars include Joel Oulette, Zavien Garrett, Ryan McEwen, and Dayton Paradis.
The Descendants franchise follows the children of well-known Disney characters. Oulette joins the cast as Robbie Hood, son of Robin Hood. Garrett plays Felix Facilier, son of Dr. Facilier, the villain from The Princess and The Frog. McEwen and Paradis will play Squirmy and Squeaky Smee respectively, the twin sons of the pirate Mr. Smee from Peter Pan.
Descendants 5 will also see a few previously established characters in the universe reprise their roles. Expect to see Red (Kylie Cantrall), daughter of the Queen of Hearts; Chloe (Malia Baker), daughter of Cinderella; and Maddox (Leonardo Nam), son of the Mad Hatter.
The Oulette, Garrett, McEwen, and Paradis join previously announced new characters headed to Descendants 5, including Liamani Segura as Red’s sister Pink; Brendon Tremblay as Max Hatter; Alexandro Byrd as Luis Madrigal (son of Luisa Madrigal from Encanto); and Kiara Romero as Hazel Hook (Captain Hook’s daughter).
Descendants 5 will pick up shortly after the events of Descendants: The Rise of Red. The feature is set in present-day Wonderland. The film comes from returning executive producers Suzanne Todd and Gary Marsh, with Kimmy Gatewood directing. The fifth installment in the franchise will also feature choreography from Emmy winner Emilio Dosal.
Production on the film is expected to begin soon. It does not have a release date yet, so check back to THS for more updates.
