Lanterns revealed the first look at Aaron Pierre and Kyle Chandler. The DC Studios series focuses on the Green Lantern Corps. Vanity Fair’s images from the show sees the two Lanterns trudging down the road. Not a green suit in sight to start out. Everything DC Studios has said about this show is teasing a grounded approach to the heroes.

Chris Mundy, Tom King and Damon Lindelof share creator credits on Lanterns. Aaron Pierre plays John Stewart. Kyle Chandler brings some grizzled charm to Hal Jordan. Early discussion of the DC Studios series teased “True Detective in Space.” These first look images really sell that idea to the audience check them out down below.

James Gunn and Peter Safran gave a big DC Studios update last week. Multiple press members and influencers were present for the event. Phase Hero’s Brandon Davis chronicled everything going on with DC Comics on the big and small screen. It sounds like the studio brass is thrilled with what’s been happening on Lanterns.

“They have been doing marvelous work. I’ve been watching the dailies with that. It’s so cool because it is connected to Superman because we’ve got Guy Gardner [another Green Lantern, played by Nathan Fillion] in that,” Gunn explained.

He teased, “And then we’ve got these Green Lanterns over here. It’s just such a different tone from what Superman is. And it’s exactly what I want to bring to the DCU, is being able to have these very different films and television series that are still part of an overall connected world, but have completely different feels for them.”
