Some of the cast and crew wanted a second season for Marvel Studios’ Agatha All Along, but it appears that’s a pipe dream. According to actress Patti LuPone, she revealed that showrunner Jac Schaffer said “there won’t be one… I don’t do second seasons.” The showrunner for Agatha All Along and WandaVision said similar things about both series and not doing a second season. Here’s what LuPone had to say about the conversation with Schaffer to Andy Cohen on his podcast Andy Cohen Live.

Spoilers ahead for people who haven’t seen Agatha All Along.

“There won’t be one. Jac Schaeffer, the creator, came into my trailer and she said, ‘Patti, I’m just here to tell you that Lilia’s going to die,’ and I went, ‘But I wanted a second season.’

“[Schaffer] said, ‘I don’t do second seasons,’” LuPone added. “She said, ‘They wanted me to do a second season of Wanda Vision and I didn’t.’ She said, ‘There’s too much to write,’ so she does one-offs and I’m really hoping and praying that someday I get to work with her again because she’s magic.”

Agatha All Along And The Future Of Witchcraft In Marvel

Agatha Harkness first showed up in the Marvel Studios series WandaVision as the villain and then later got her own show Agatha All Along. That series was all about Agatha getting together a group of witches and getting their powers back. It connected the storyline from WandaVision but wasn’t necessarily a second season. Now it appears that Wanda could be heading elsewhere, while we don’t know the full whereabouts or life of the Scarlet Witch/Wanda. Marvel is heading for a more multiverse-focused storyline with Secret Wars and other projects on the horizon. They also have Captain America: Brave New World coming out on February 14th, 2025. That film doesn’t look to focus at all on the more magical side of Marvel.

As for Agatha and the witches, we’ll have to see how they show up in future installments in the MCU.

So, what do you think of this news? Are you sad that Agatha All Along isn’t getting a second season?
