Dylan O’Brien will star in the upcoming survival horror-thriller Send Help, Deadline reports. He joins previously announced lead Rachel McAdams in the film from producer/director Sam Raimi.

Send Help follows two colleagues stranded on a desert island. As the lone survivors of a plane crash, they’ll have to overcome their past grievances to work together to survive. The story is described as a sort of combination between Stephen King’s Misery and the Tom Hanks movie Castaway.

The feature comes from 20th Century Studios and screenwriters Damian Shannon and Mark Swift. The duo previously penned Freddy vs. Jason and 2009’s Friday the 13th. Director Raimi also previously worked with McAdams on Marvel’s Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness.

O’Brien’s recent work includes portraying comedian Dan Aykroyd in the acclaimed feature Saturday Night; starring in the M. Night Shyamalan-produced Caddo Lake; and appearing on the Max series Fantasmas. He also premiered Ponyboi at Sundance, which won the Grand Jury Award at LGBTQ+ film festival NewFest. O’Brien is also known for his long-running stint on the supernatural drama Teen Wolf and his work on the Maze Runner film franchise.

O’Brien will also appear at this year’s Sundance Film Festival to debut Twinless, in which he stars and executive produces.

Send Help doesn’t have a release date yet. So, check back to THS for more updates.
