You know the expression “the apple doesn’t fall far from the tree”? Well, Lionsgate plans to explore that concept in the extreme with the new thriller Like Father Like Son.

The film features Dermot Mulroney as an imprisoned man awaiting a death sentence for his crimes. The story follows his son Eli (played by Dylan Flashner) and his emotional struggle dealing with his father’s legacy and his own terrifying triggers.

The film comes from writer/director Barry Jay (The Way Out, Killer Therapy). In addition to Mulroney and Flashner, the feature also stars Ariel Winter, Vivica A. Fox, Jim Klock, Prima Apollinaare, Eric Michael Cole, and Mayim Bialik.

Ariel Winter, Vivica A. Fox, Mayim Bialik and Dermot Mulroney star in an emotional thriller about the lengths one man will go to end a brutal cycle of violence. Eli is a young man whose father waits on death row for the crime of murder in the first degree. As Eli’s life begins to fall apart, he discovers similar terrifying triggers in himself and takes extreme measures to ensure that the family’s string of savagery comes to an end.
