Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II Ep. 7 “Turn Over” is an incredibly plot twisty episode. All revolving around that traitor mechanic the GGO devs introduced a few episodes ago. Needless to say, you will be just as shocked as the main characters when the full extent of the traitor mechanic and how Team LPFM toyed and is toying around with it.

Alas, Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II only relatively recently began its run. In fact, Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II Ep. 7 “Turn Over” only just made its debut four days ago as of this writing. Thus, I will present to you Crunchyroll’s official synopsis for this episode instead of a spoiler-filled plot summary. You can read that synopsis below:

Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II Ep. 7 “Turn Over”: The Good
It’s all the story. The story of Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II Ep. 7 “Turn Over” is what blew me away about this episode, and it’s all down to the insane plot twists. As it turns out: Keiichi Sigsawa is really good at those plot twists. There’s just so much treachery in this episode, and some hilariously epic kills. There’s even a not-lightsaber duel in this episode, just as David wanted. The action in this episode is just so insane, and insanely hilarious on top of that. Honestly, it can only get better from here on out, especially in light of the true traitor of this whole game. No spoilers, but let’s just say that LLENN’s stress levels can also only get higher from here on out.
All with some quality animation complementing that action and betrayals. A-1 Pictures proves once more that they are the animators behind Sword Art Online, adding that level of high quality animation to this spinoff of the main anime. A spinoff that, in my honest opinion, is much better than the mainline series in terms of story, but that’s a topic for another day. For now, you need only know that the not-lightsaber duel looks amazing with their animation, complete with sparks flying off of the glowing blades as though it was a scene right out of Star Wars.
Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II Ep. 7 “Turn Over”: The Bad
Honestly, the only possible complaint about the otherwise amazing action in Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II Ep. 7 “Turn Over” is the lack of blood and gore. All the action takes place within a video game, and the in-universe devs clearly want to keep the age rating down. Thus, even though people are literally getting blown up, impaled through the face, electrocuted, dismembered, etc., there’s not a drop of blood to be seen.
If you want that blood and gore, then might I suggest watching Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Solo Leveling, Kaiju No. 8, DDDD, and/or DAN DA DAN? Those anime series should have more than enough bloody action to satisfy the most rabid action junkie.
