DAN DA DAN Ep. 7 “To a Kinder World” is just an episode full of plot twists. It continues from where we last left off in the previous episode as a horror action thriller, of course. Then it shows you the monster’s backstory, and suddenly, you’re reduced to tears. Truly, this is the hallmark of a great writer.

Alas, Okarun doesn’t even get to experience the tearjerker.

Dammit, even seeing this scene again is making me tear up.

The story. It’s all the story of DAN DA DAN Ep. 7 “To a Kinder World” that makes it so devastating, and that’s what makes it so good. The episode just starts off as your usual action horror comedy thriller, just like in previous episodes. Then suddenly, it whiplashes into tragedy when it finally shows Acrobatic Silky’s backstory. My god, it hurts to watch. And yet, it’s because of the pain of seeing her backstory that’s why this episode is the best episode of the entire anime thus far. I’m not even going to go into details, because that would just spoil things. I’ll just let you all watch for yourself, and hopefully take my word that it’s amazing. Seriously, Yukinobu Tatsu has just proven that he is an amazing author with this storyline.

Of course, that amazing story is enhanced by the equally as amazing animation. Science SARU really went all out for this particular episode, and appropriately so. The high quality animation just enhances the tragedy of this entire episode. Seriously, there’s a sequence of Acrobatic Silky dancing ballet in human form that is just so jaw-dropping beautiful that it brought tears to my eyes. It still brings tears to my eyes just remembering it. You need to watch this episode. Trust me, it’s worth it.

There’s a reason why Aira there is lying so still.

Honestly, this episode has everything. From action to comedy to tragedy, DAN DA DAN Ep. 7 “To a Kinder World” has nearly everything you could ever want in an anime. All except for blood and gore. Despite the main cast taking a bunch of hits, there’s no visible blood or even injuries, save for a very nighmarish bit of gore midway through the episode. If you want more of that, then you might want to watch Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no YaibaSolo LevelingKaiju No. 8, and/or DDDD. Those anime should have more than enough blood and gore to satisfy any action junkie.
