You can really only use one word to describe Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II Ep. 6 “The Offensive and Defensive Battle That Still Has Time”: chaos. Pure, unbridled chaos. Not just because of the situation where the remaining teams have to assault a beached cruise ship against their former teammates as the sea comes rushing in, mind you. The other reason why is all due to the people making up those teams, some of who are only interested in nothing but chaos.

Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II Ep. 6 “The Offensive and Defensive Battle That Still Has Time”: Synopsis
Alas, Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II only relatively recently began its run. In fact, Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II Ep. 6 “The Offensive and Defensive Battle That Still Has Time” only just made its debut four days ago as of this writing. Thus, I will present to you Crunchyroll’s official synopsis for this episode instead of a spoiler-filled plot summary. You can read that synopsis below:
LLENN and her comrades head to the center of the island, where they find the luxury cruise ship. As the island continues to sink, they must get on board. However, they can’t carelessly approach the vessel as BTRY awaits them onboard.
Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II Ep. 6 “The Offensive and Defensive Battle That Still Has Time”: The Good
There’s really no question that it’s the story of Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II Ep. 6 “The Offensive and Defensive Battle That Still Has Time” that’s the best part about it. All due to the chaos. The hilariously chaotic nature of this episode’s story is what makes it great, all thanks to the cast. The various teams just do everything possible in a MMO game. Some teams do the sensible thing and cooperate to get into the cruise ship. Others just blaze away at each other for the most ridiculous of reasons. It’s this wildly free-flowing story that shows off Keiichi Sigsaw’s writing prowess at work here.
Of course, it’s not just the story that makes this episode great. It’s also the quality animation from A-1 Pictures. Again, they show off that they’re the same animation studio behind Sword Art Online. Especially when you see Team BTRY pull out not-lightsabers. Why do I say not-lightsabers, you might ask? Well, because they are not-lightsabers. They are, but they aren’t. Trust me, you’ll know it when you see it, and they’re just as awesome as they sound like. Plus, the animation of brass falling out of a machine gun’s ejection port and someone being blown in half by a PTRD-41 are just gorgeously violent. This is definitely the episode and anime for you if you like guns in the slightest.
Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II Ep. 6 “The Offensive and Defensive Battle That Still Has Time”: The Bad
Honestly, most action junkies should be positively thrilled with Sword Art Online Alternative: Gun Gale Online II Ep. 6 “The Offensive and Defensive Battle That Still Has Time”. There’s just so much chaos and action going on that it’d be hard not to. However, if you specifically want bloody gore in this action, then you’re going to be disappointed. After all, this anime takes place entirely in a video game with an in-universe ratings system. Blood and gore just isn’t allowed in this setting. If you want that, then might I suggest watching Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba, Solo Leveling, Kaiju No. 8, DDDD, and/or DAN DA DAN? Those particular anime should have more than enough blood and gore in them to satisfy any action junkie desiring that particular brand of violence.
