The last time we saw the Scarlet Witch on an MCU screen was in the excellent Doctor Strange and the Multiverse Of Madness. She destroyed the Darkhold and seemingly died in a collapsing temple. Well, that might be the case for *our* universe in the MCU, but with the multiverse saga in full swing, she could return. Kevin Feige spoke to Omelete and had this to say about the future of the Scarlet Witch and Elizabeth Olsen in the role.
“We just had Agatha All Along on Disney+, and that series was great for us. Since then, there have been a lot of questions about Wanda on the minds of fans. “So I can only say that we are excited to find out when and how Scarlet Witch might return.”
That’s not exactly a confirmation that she’s returning, but it’s teasing the possibility of a return for both Scarlet Witch and Elizabeth Olsen. Her character is one of the most popular in all of the MCU. She has a massive fanbase, especially on Twitter/X. So, naturally, people would want to see her make her grand return. The Scarlet Witch is also one of the most powerful characters in the MCU. That was showcased in Multiverse of Madness where she was the antagonist of the film, going to massive lengths to see her two sons once again.
The series WandaVision cemented her as one of the most popular, as she led the new era of Disney+ shows to commercial and critical acclaim.
Our Take On The Scarlet Witch And Elizabeth Olsen Returning To The MCU
This is fantastic news for any fans of the MCU or the Scarlet Witch. She’s one of the best and most layered characters in any of the movies and TV series. With the oncoming threat of Doctor Doom and whatever else lies ahead in movies like The Fantastic Four: First Steps and Avengers: Doomsday, she could be a powerful ally for our heroes. Elizabeth Olsen’s performance as Wanda Maximoff has been among the best in the MCU as well. So if she’s making a return, that means the material is likely very good.
