Michael is an upcoming biopic about the life and times of the (in)famous singer, dancer, songwriter, and philantropist Michael Jackson from director Antoine Fuqua. Meanwhile, Good Fortune is an upcoming comedy film from director Aziz Ansari (who also stars in his own film), featuring a “budget guardian angel” played by Keanu Reeves who tries to help someone by swapping his life with a rich man’s life. All to try to teach him a lesson about how wealth doesn’t solve problems. Except when it does, and then everything starts going horribly…right? Wrong? Possibly even everything in between.
So what do these two films have in common? Well, normally, the answer would be nothing. You know, beyond that they’re both upcoming films scheduled for release next year in 2025. However, fate smiles(?) upon them via Michael getting a delay in its release. A delay that’s causing these two unconnected films to have a meeting with release window destiny.
Michael and Good Fortune: Release Details
Deadline has just announced that the upcoming films Michael by Antoine Fuqua and Good Fortune by Aziz Ansari now share in common a release window. All due to the former having its original Easter release window of April 18-20, 2024 bumped up.
Michael now has a release date of October 3, 2025. Meanwhile, Good Fortune still retains its original release date of October 17, 2025. Could this be fate for them to now have a release window in the same month next year? Will they compete with each other? Will they cooperate? Perhaps this dual release October 2025 will become known as Good Michael? Michael Fortune? Well, either way, we will just have to see when those films finally make their debut next year.
Tune back in to THS to find out more about Michael, Good Fortune, and other films when we do.
