Back in 2021, director Denis Villeneuve (Sicario, Arrival, Blade Runner 2049) proved to the world that he could make Frank Herbert’s science fiction literary masterpiece be great in cinema with Dune. All in defiance of the previous attempts to turn Dune into a successful movie / TV series to boot. Since then, Villeneuve has continued with this success with a Dune: Part Two on March 1, 2024; and even as we speak, he’s working on a sequel to that based on Dune Messiah (1969).
It’s this success that is continuing to inspire more and more Dune media to pop up. This includes the upcoming Dune: Prophecy from showrunner Alison Schapker, and developed by both Schapker and Diane Ademu-John. Which by the way, already looks like it will be an amazing TV series based on what we see in the official trailer. What official trailer, you might ask? Why, the one that just dropped today as of this writing.
Dune: Prophecy ~ Official Trailer Details
HBO Max (aka. Max) has just dropped a brand new official trailer for their upcoming Dune: Prophecy TV series on YouTube. What’s more, this trailer even includes when we’re going to see this TV series.
Apparently, Dune: Prophecy will make its debut on November 17, 2024. Alas, this will be a HBO Original Series. This means that when it does make its debut, you will be able to watch it only on Max, due to the series being an exclusive there.
