Mike Flanagan’s star power has shot up in recent years, thanks to his many Netflix horror series hits. The director’s recent credits include Haunting of Hill House, Haunting of Bly Manor, Midnight Mass, and The Fall of the House of Usher. But before Flanagan dominated the streaming horror TV space, he directed some fan-favorite scary movies. Now, one of his most loved films will finally get a theatrical release. HUSH officially hits US theaters on October 16!
HUSH enters on a deaf writer who has retreated into the woods to live a solitary life. She must fight for her life in silence when a masked killer appears at her window.
HUSH first premiered on Netflix in 2016. The horror thriller went straight to streaming, and didn’t have a theatrical release back when it first came out. So, this month marks the first time new and old fans can watch the film on the big screen.
Flanagan directed the film, which he co-wrote with star Kate Siegel. The feature also stars John Gallagher Jr., Samantha Sloyan, and Michael Trucco. (Fans of Flanagan’s Netflix shows will recognize some recurring faces here.)
The feature’s producers Intrepid Pictures and Blumhouse teamed up with Shout! Studios to bring HUSH to theaters for a special engagement.
Theatrical screenings will kick off on October 16 at 6:30pm PST, followed by a livestream Q&A with Flanagan and Siegel. The live Q&A will take place at Vidiots in Eagle Rock, CA immediately following the theater’s screening.
Look out for HUSH headed to a theater near you. In the meantime, check back to THS for more updates on horror movies this spooky season.
