Blue Box is one of the most popular manga on Shonen Jump for some very good reasons. Mostly because it’s not actually a shonen manga. Its focus on romantic comedy with sports (specifically: badminton and basketball) as the backdrop makes the story more like a shojo story than your typical shonen action manga. That combined with the beautiful art from mangaka Kouji Miura (I Love You , My Teacher) is what makes this a hit manga on Viz Media’s Shonen Jump. In fact, the manga of the same name is currently ongoing, with 166 chapters as of this writing. That should tell you how popular and well-received the manga is.
Thus, you can understand why Netflix would want to license the upcoming anime adaptation of Blue Box from Telecom Animation Film (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood, Tower of God, Astro Note), and TMS Entertainment (Detective Conan, Lupin the Third, Anpanman) for streaming. Don’t believe me? Then why not Netflix’s new official trailer for the anime below, and see for yourself if this love story is one you wish to follow?
