How I Attended an All-Guy’s Mixer is exactly what it sounds like in the title. Wait…no, I take that back. In every way, this anime adaptation of Nana Aokawa‘s manga of the same name defies not only its title but also traditional gender norms period. It looks like a pretty unique romcom anime from Ashi Productions (Magical Princess Minky Momo, The Tale of the Outcasts) in the making here. Honestly, it’s no surprise that HIDIVE wants to nab this anime for themselves. Don’t believe me? Then why not check out this older trailer for the anime below, and see for yourself just how mindbending of a romcom this anime is?

That’s not all, folks! HIDIVE also has an official synopsis for How I Attended an All-Guy’s Mixer to shed some light on the story. You can check out that synopsis below:

College student Tokiwa gets invited to a mixer by his female classmate Suo. But when he arrives with his friends Asagi and Hagi, they’re greeted by three dazzlingly handsome men. Turns out these three cute boys are actually women in drag—still in costume from their day jobs at a butler cafe that caters to a female clientele! As the six get to know each other, they soon find themselves getting closer in unexpectedly heartwarming (and hilarious) ways.
