To celebrate the end of that sixth season, Shudder is putting on a massive movie marathon with Joe Bob and Darcy The Mail Girl. The new special premieres August 30th at 9PM ET on Shudder and AMC+. On The Last Drive-In, Briggs, the world’s foremost drive-in movie critic hosts eclectic horror movies, talking about their merits, histories and significance to genre cinema. Fans can watch new episodes of season six every other Friday night on Shudder and AMC+. The Last Drive-In: Nightmareathon will cap off season six in a way only The Last Drive-In crew knows how, with a special six-movie marathon.
As for any information about the upcoming The Last Drive-In: Nightmareathon, they never announce the movies ahead of time, so we’ll just have to wait and see. The replay of the stream will be available to stream on Sunday, September 1st.
The Last Drive-In continues the legacy of Joe Bob Briggs as a horror host. He previously hosted Monstervision on TNT and through that captured an entire generation of horror fans. The new show is the same format as that show, with the movie being shown uncut, and Joe Bob taking over during breaks in the movie to give tidbits, trivia, and sometimes interview the cast and crew behind the film.
