STARZ announced the official premiere and debuted a first look at its upcoming limited series, Three Women.
The series draws inspiration from the New York Times bestselling book of the same name from Lisa Taddeo. Described as an “intimate, haunting portrayal of female desire,” the series finds three women on a crash course to radically overturn their lives.
Here’s the official synopsis from STARZ:
Lina, a homemaker in suburban Indiana, is a decade into a passionless marriage when she embarks on an affair that quickly becomes all-consuming and transforms her life. Sloane, a glamorous entrepreneur in the Northeast, has a committed open marriage with Richard (Underwood), until two sexy new strangers threaten their aspirational love story. Maggie, a student in North Dakota, weathers an intense storm after accusing her married English teacher of an inappropriate relationship. Then Gia, a writer grieving the loss of her family, persuades each of these three spectacular “ordinary” women to tell her their stories, and her relationships with them change the course of her life forever.
Three Women stars Betty Gilpin (Gaslit, GLOW) as Lina; DeWanda Wise (Imaginary, Jurassic World: Dominion) as Sloane; Gabrielle Creevy (In My Skin, The Pact) as Maggie; and Shailene Woodley (Big Little Lies, Divergent) as Gia. The extended cast also includes Blair Underwood, Jason Ralph, and John Patrick Amedori.
Laura Eason (House of Cards) serves as showrunner. Three Women author Taddeo serves as creator and executive producer. Kathy Ciric and Emmy Rossum also executive produce.
Three Women will premiere on Friday, September 13 at midnight on the STARZ app. On linear, it will premiere on STARZ at 10pm ET/PT. Until then, check back to THS for more updates.
