The 2024 Kids’ Choice Awards will come to us LIVE from Bikini Bottom Bows on Saturday, July 13th! Of course, this means they will be hosted, for the first time, by animated characters SpongeBob SquarePants and Patrick Star! The hosting duties are part of the year-long celebration of the 25th anniversary of the animated series.
The Kids’ Choice Awards 2024 will debut just before the anniversary of the SpongeBob series! The event will be presented in an animated setting with enhanced graphics and advanced augmented reality. The awards will broadcast simultaneously on Nickelodeon, TeenNick, Nicktoons, and Nick Jr. and celebrate the favorites of kids and fans in movies, television, music, sports, and beyond. POST AWARDS 25th-anniversary SpongeBob SquarePants CELEBRATION!
Then, after the Kids’ Choice Awards 2024, Nickelodeon is set to launch an extensive lineup of 25th-anniversary programs for SpongeBob SquarePants. This celebration invites audiences worldwide to immerse themselves in the world of SpongeBob through LIVE, EAT, GAME, PLAY, as well as WATCH experiences. The offerings include fresh original content across the Paramount ecosystem. There will be unique location-based adventures, exclusive consumer products and games, innovative partnerships, and much more. Here are some key highlights of the campaign!
SPONGEBOB SQUAREPANTS CONTENT
- SpongeBob SquarePants Anniversary Specials: A set of specially crafted, brand-new episodes filled with Easter eggs and references. Of course, there will also be fan moments premiering on Nickelodeon worldwide in July. Then, will be released gradually throughout the year. Audiences will reunite with the former jelly fishing champion Kevin C. Cucumber, explore various eras of Bikini Bottom, venture 2000 years into the future with Plankton, and much more exciting adventures await.
- Paramount+: Paramount+ is the ultimate streaming destination for SpongeBob enthusiasts. The streaming platform offers a plethora of content unmatched by any other streaming platform. This July, viewers can look forward to a variety of new titles joining the service. These, of course, include SpongeBob SquarePants seasons 1-13. You can also stream the original spinoff series Kamp Koral: SpongeBob’s Under Years and season one of The Patrick Star Show. You can also watch theatrical films like The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie, and anniversary-themed specials throughout the year.
- Saving Bikini Bottom: In “The Sandy Cheeks Movie,” Bikini Bottom’s resident scientist and squirrel, Sandy Cheeks, embarks on a journey to Texas. There she has to thwart a villainous scheme and protect Bikini Bottom. This marks the first movie in the franchise to feature a supporting character as the lead. It will premiere on Netflix on August 2nd.
- Play Like a Sponge UK Shorts: Nickelodeon UK and ParalympicsGB have joined forces to create Play like a Sponge. This is a series of short episodes designed to encourage children to channel their inner SpongeBob as they explore and try out new sports with Paralympic athletes. So, the show aims to inspire and educate kids in the lead-up to the upcoming games in Paris this August.

- The Krabby Patty Kollab: For the first time, The Krabby Patty will be featured on menus in North America and London through “The Krabby Patty Kollab”. Chefs and celebrities will create unique dishes inspired by the secret formula. More details coming soon.
- San Diego Comic-Con: Nickelodeon and Paramount+ are teaming up to honor the legacy of SpongeBob SquarePants. There will be unique fan-centric events, special digital content, merchandise, as well as exciting giveaways. Stay tuned for more details to be revealed soon!
- The SpongeBob Musical Contest: Concord Theatricals and Nickelodeon are teaming up for The SpongeBob Musical Contest. So, this contest will give ten lucky schools or youth groups in the U.S. and Canada the chance to perform the beloved show for free. - Science of SpongeBob 3.0: So, in honor of 25 years of SpongeBob SquarePants, Nickelodeon Our World, and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County (NHM) are teaming up to present Science of SpongeBob 3.0. This interactive educational module, available both online and in person, delves into the science behind the beloved underwater world of SpongeBob. The module will provide a fun and engaging way for kids and families to learn more about the natural world.
- SpongeBob’s Crazy Carnival Ride: In collaboration with Paramount, Sally Dark Rides has brought to life the first SpongeBob SquarePants interactive dark ride at Circus Circus Las Vegas. Guests can now embark on a thrilling adventure through Bikini Bottom. The ride is complete with vibrant sets, special effects, animatronics, as well as immersive projections.
- Aquarium Experience: Visitors at various aquariums in the U.S. and around the world this summer will have the opportunity to enjoy an interactive SpongeBob experience. There will be exhibit signage, themed scavenger hunts, screenings of episodes, as well as other exciting activities.
- Italy’s Mirabilandia Amusement Park: In July, Nickelodeon Italy and Mirabilandia Amusement Park in Emilia Romagna, Italy are teaming up to create an unforgettable experience for park visitors. So, guests can look forward to a day filled with SpongeBob-themed activities, character meet and greets, and other exciting surprises.
- Colombia’s Parque Arauco Malls: Nickelodeon Latin America has teamed up with Parque Arauco malls in Colombia to bring a SpongeBob SquarePants immersive experience to mall-goers in July and August. The event will educate kids about ocean conservation. It will also allow them to explore Bikini Bottom through games, virtual reality, and photo opportunities for the entire family.
