You can check out a new family adventure when WondLa premieres this summer on Apple TV+.
WondLa centers around Eva, a curious, enthusiastic, and spirited teenager raised in a state-of-the-art underground bunker by Muthr, a robot caretaker. On her 16th birthday, an attack on Eva’s bunker forces her onto the Earth’s surface. But the surface is now inhabited by aliens, covered with otherworldly fauna, and no other humans to be found. In fact, it’s no longer called Earth but Orbona. Otto, a loveable giant water bear with whom Eva shares telepathic powers, and Rovender, a cantankerous alien with a troubled past join Eva as she leads the team on a dangerous quest to find humans, her home, and her true destiny.
The series comes from Skydance Animation and adapts Tony DiTerlizzi’s bestselling book series The Search for WondLa. DiTerlizzi serves as an executive producer on the show, along with showrunner Bobs Gannaway, Jeremy Bell, Julie Kane-Ritsch and Skydance Animation’s John Lasseter, David Ellison, and Dana Goldberg.
The animated adventure’s voice cast includes Jeanine Mason as Eva, Emmy nominee Teri Hatcher as Muthr, Emmy winner Brad Garrett as Otto, and Gary Anthony Williams as Rovender. The extended voice cast also features Chiké Okonkwo as Besteel, the greatest hunter in all of Orbona; D.C. Douglas as Omnipod, Dynasty Corporation’s sentient hand-held device, issued to every human at the age of six; and Emmy Award nominee Alan Tudyk as Cadmus Pryde, founder of Dynastes Corporation.
Skydance Animation previously partnered with Apple to release the animated feature Luck.
WondLa season 1 includes seven episodes. The series will premiere globally on Apple TV+ June 28.
